Subject: AT 40 Flashback:1985

This past weekend American Top 40 ran the countdown hits from this past week in 1985. I only caught some of the songs while I was @ work. Here it is: "High On You" Survivor the second single fromn their "Vital Signs" album. "I Wanna Hear It From Your Lips" Eric Carmen's first Top 40 hit in 6yrs. Can anyone name his last Top 40 hit prior to that song? "The Ooh Ooh Song" Pat Benatar's follow-up to "We Belong". A forgotten song. "Keeping The Faith" The 6th & last hit from Billy Joel's Top 5 album "An Innocent Man". "Mistake #3" Culture Club's follow-up to "The War Song" another forgtten song by this talented group. Personally, I love "Victims". "Lovergirl" Teena Marie biggest hit & her last Top 40 hit. A shame. She has a new album coming out soon called "Black Rain". "Loverboy" Billy Ocean's follow-up to his comeback hit,"Caribbean Queen(No More Love On The Run)". Trivia: that song was written by Robert John "Mutt" Lange who has worked with everyone from The Cars to AC/DC. "Private Dancer" The title song from her amazing comeback album which was written by Mark Knopfler but it features a guitar solo by Jeff Beck. "Rockin' At Midnight" The Honeydrippers Trivia: Can You name the 3 guitarists that played with Robert Plant on their mini-EP,"Volume One" A misleading title knowing the fact there was no Vol.2. "Tenderness" General Public. Can you name the other hit that they had 8yrs.later? "Careless Whisper" Wham! Featuring George Michael. One of the best ballads of that year or this decade. BTW, That song would be the #1 song of '85 acording to Billboard's year-end chart. "Easy Lover" Philip Bailey with Phil Collins. This is one of those songs I never get tired of hearing on the radio. The #1 song that week in '85 was "I Want To Know What Love Is" Foreigner. O.K. opinions please? I know a lot you remember these songs.
