Subject: artist/title?

Written By: Darla on 2/25/2001 at 6:54 a.m.

I posted a message asking if anyone knew of the artist or title for a song I remember from sometime around '87 (near as I can remember, anyway), and a few people thought it may have been Rover by Led Zeppelin.

It's so weird; although part of that song does have some of the same words, it's a totally different genre. The song I'm looking for was totally 80's pop style music; nothing hard core at all. Can anyone offer any more insight?

Thanks!

I don't know the artist or title; just some of the lyrics. Here goes:

"Baby, baby
When you take me out strollin'
You've got me rockin'
When I oughta be a rollin'"

Then the chorus is sorta gibberish:

"A-ha-ha-ha
Hey-O
A-duba-duba-duba-duba
A-ha-ha-ha
A-ha-ha-ha
Hey-O"

Verse 2:

"Baby, Baby
You oughta be in heaven (or something close to that)
You've got me pushin'
When I oughta be a shovin'..."

BTW, I see from your e-mail address that you're apparently in Canada. If "Baby Baby" by Eighth Wonder isn't the answer, this leads me to believe that the song you're looking for was most likely by a Canadian act (Eighth Wonder were British), and a hit up in the Great White North only...

This is strictly a stab in the dark, as I don't have the song myself, but based on the lyrics you've provided, and your approximate date, I think your "mystery song" may be "Baby Baby" by Eighth Wonder, a minor hit here in the U.S. in the Spring of '89. It was off their 1988 album, "Fearless". Unfortunately, the album is long out-of-print in all formats, although it did come out on CD here in the U.S...

You don't specify male or female vocals, but unlike Led Zeppelin, Eighth Wonder had a female lead singer (Patsy Kensit), LOL! Oh, well...
