Subject: HeyHey HEY!!

Does anyone know if "Fat Albert" is ever on TV? I loved that show as a kid (that Rudy, always causing trouble!), but I can never find it on cable.

Is the Coz keeping it off the shelf? I've heard that he's in pre-production for a live-action "Fat Albert" movie, so you'd think the show would go back into circulation.

Any help would be appreciated. Thanx.

I have also heard about the making of a Fat Albert live-action movie. I've heard it's in the script development stage with Bill Cosby. The real question is who will play the kids?

On a similar note, have you heard there is going to be a live-action Scooby Doo movie? I've seen pictures of the actors in costume. Their choices are terrible. The guy playing Shaggy doesn't look anything like him. My friend and I have thought about who would play which character. We thought Screech from Saved by the Bell should've been Shaggy; Fred Savage should be Freddie; Christina Ricci as Velma; and Jennifer Love Hewitt as Daphne. I think they we're on high doses of crack when they thought of THEIR ideas. They even screwed up on the logo of the Mystery Machine. I sense Golden Raspberry Award 2001. Remember the Rocky & Bullwinkle movie??? Need I say more?

BoyOfCorn,

I've heard about the Scooby Doo flick too. Check out your new Scoobers: the plastic Freddie Prinz Jr. as Fred, Sarah "Buffy" Gellar as Daphine, Matthew Lillard (goofy guy from "Scream", I think) as Shaggy. I forget who's playing Velma, but there were talks with Christina Ricci.

It all leaves me a bit disappointed, and still Fat Albert-less.

Personally, I hate it when they try to convert a cartoon into live action. It just doesn't work for me. I'm sorry, but I can't buy into *anyone* playing the part of Shaggy in live action. He's best left as a pen and ink character using Casey Casem's voice. For that matter, I wish they'd leave all the old sitcoms alone too. When is the movie based on Hazel coming out? Mork and Mindy?

Am I alone here, or does anyone else feel the same?

yeah.. I'm curious as to how the new Josie and the Pussycats movie will work out.. I'm thinking it will probably flop too.. Hollywood is clearly out of ideas.. I was trying to get together with my friends for a night out.. we usually get something to eat, catch a movie.. taking a look at the movies playing though.. what a load of crap.. nothing is playing that I would even consider seeing.. there is however an independent theater in Worcester now, so there's at least somewhere to see stuff I want.. since they run one classic movie, one independent, this week was A Clockwork Orange.. pretty bad when I'd rather spend money to see something I already own on DVD than to see a new movie
