Subject: Has Anyone Else Seen This?

Written By: Wicked Lester on 3/18/2001 at 11:26 p.m.

There's a commercial playing on TV now for "Crazy Elastic Bubble Plastic", which I'm sure all 80sphiles will remember from their youth. However, I seem to remember it being called "Super Elastic Bubble PLastic" back then. Am I right, or are the old brain cells beginning to suffer from too many nights of 4 and 5 hours of sleep?

Haven't seen the new commercial, but "SEBP" is the way I remember it, too. BTW, do they still make "Slime"???

Yes, they still make slime and it comes in all sorts of colors including neon (pink, blue, orange, etc.), glitter, and glow-the-dark. And it's better than I remember. It stays together better and doesn't dry out so fast. It still stinks and makes a mess when left on the floor.

As for plastic bubbles, they look much better on TV than in practical use, as usual. You don't have to pay $19.95 for them either, they have them in the toy isle of most grocery and drugstores $1.98.

Yes, like most toys and such, it never quite worked as well at home as it did on the commercials. But I was overcome with a wave of nostalgia when I saw the commercial the other night. I hadn't thought of that stuff in years. Is what you can buy in the drug stores now the same thing I remember, or just a knock off?

I think it's the same. It works just as bad. So bad they couldn't raise the price until kid tv got the I wantidis to get moms to buy it with nostalgia in there hearts. I think the nostalgia came from remembering the comercials, not the product. Bye.
