i remember a song by a band called Taxi in the early 80s(82), but i have no idea what the name of the song is.the lyrics go something like this,

"Maybe Someday" can be found on their new CD Chequered Past. I think it is a greatest hits CD.

The correct spelling of the band is "Taxxi"; they were British. Your "mystery song" is "Maybe Someday", a moderate hit on the AOR chart (it failed to cross over to the pop chart) here in the U.S. in the Fall of '83. It was off the group's 1983 album, "Foreign Tongue". Unfortunately, the album is long out-of-print, and has never been issued on CD here in the U.S...
