"Blue Monday" by New Order (actually, the ENTIRE album Power, Corruption & Lies is excellent!) and every song from the album Construction Time Again by Depeche Mode (with the timeless classic: "Everything Counts"!).

Wicked Lester, I loved your Top 25 list, but when I saw your 5 late additions, I just about jumped out of my seat. Those five songs are some of my absolute favorite songs off all time!!! My personal fave is Come Back and Stay by Paul Young, from his Parlez Vous album. Almost as classic as his "Love of the Common People", which still brings tears to my eyes. And "New Song" by HoJo, what a happy tune!!! When I'm in a bad mood or feeling depressed, I can just play this song and I'm instantly happy!!! I also love Talk Talk's "Talk Talk", but I still love the haunting "It's my life" just a bit more. And UB40's "Red Red Wine", what's a night out drinking with your bud's without this song playing in the background? And I can really get down and boogy on the dance floor to Real Life's "Send Me An Angel"... "Do you believe in Heaven above, do you believe in love???" Thanks for the memories, WickedLester..

Glad to bring back some pleasant memories That's my personal favorite Paul Young song as well, and I also prefer "It's My Life" to "Talk Talk", but I think IML wasn't a hit until '84, so I didn't include it.

Actually, Talk Talk didn't have any hits here in the U.S. in 1983. The song "Talk Talk" was a minor hit in the Fall of '82, and "It's My Life" a moderate hit in the Spring of '84. Also, don't forget the excellent "Life's What You Make It", from the Winter of '86, which should've done a lot better than it ultimately did...
