Subject: American Bandstand Vs. Dance Party USA

Okay, which did you guys prefer. I remember that for a time both of these shows came on at the same time, so I was switching back and forth. My vote would have to go to American Bandstand... it was on for 30 years. Plus, AB got all of the great acts to perform, including Madonna, Janet Jackson, Culture Club, and Prince! I always thought that Dance Party was a little on the cheesy side, but it was the 80s after all...

I preferred Bandstand, although the quality began to go down in the late 80s I thought, but maybe it was just that I didn't care as much for the music they featured as I did in the early/mid 80s.

I think "Solid Gold" was the music show to watch before MTV came on every cable system. "Soul Train" was also a well done show for that side of the 80's music.
