I was wondering if you could tell me what you know about what happened with the whole Olympics in Moscow.

I remember that there was a boycott of the 1980 Olympic Games in Moscow in place by Presiden Carter because, at the time, the Russians had invaded Afghanistan, and this was a form of protest...

The British team were allowed to make their own decision according to their conscience. Some athletes said that sport should keep out of politics and went to the Moscow olympics but others felt them some sort of protest against the Russian invasion should be made.

I think several other countries banned their athletes from competing that year.
