Subject: Can anyone remember this song?

Written By: Stacey on 5/20/2001 at 5:22 a.m.

I have had this song in my head for 15 years or so. I can't remeber much of it and it is driving me crazy. Only lyrics I remember are "... close my eyes and pray for the light..." I believe the song is kind of guitar heavy but not much more than that. Any ideas are appreciated and I can search the usual places to check them out. I have been looking all over the net, checking lists and even checking Napster for hints in the chat rooms. Thanks all for any help.

Also if it helps, the song is from like 1984 or just before. The last time I heard it was in South Carolina in 1984.And I may have made a mistake in the lyrics. It may be "...I curse the dark and pray for the light..". Hope this helps.

This lyric is from "Walking on a Thin Line" by Huey Lewis and the News, from the album Sports. It peaked on the charts at #18 in October of 1984, so the time frame is right.

Wicked Lester, you are the coolest. I thank for releasing all my anguish as I pounded my head trying to figure out this song. I have just downloaded this song and it is what I have been looking for. Thanks again.

Glad I could help. I know what it's like to have a song stuck in your head that you can't remember

Geeez, I can't believe I couldn't think of it! I listen to Huey's "best of" tape at least twice a week. LOL
