Subject: Samplers Strike Again!

Written By: Wicked Lester on 6/14/2001 at 4:42 p.m.

I hit the scan button on the radio today when I was returning from lunch, and I thought for a second I was hearing "White Winged Dove" by Stevie Nicks. But I soon found out, to my horror, that it was just another of today's "artists" who lacks the originality to think of something new. I don't know who it was or the name of their "new" song, but it's another to add to the list.

I heard that crappy sampled version of "Edge Of Seventeen" too. It's by Destiny's Child, and the title is (get this): "Bootylicious"!

Isn't it a sham? These so-called artists of today. Christina Aguilara ought to be strung up by her thumbs for what she did to "Jack and Diane"

LOL! And just to prove how faceless and forgettable these current acts are, I must correct you - it was actually Jessica Simpson who sampled "Jack and Diane" in her hit "I Think I'm in Love With You", not CA...

I stand corrected:-) I wasn't sure, but I did know she looked good on TV. It all sounds the same to me anymore. All you need to get a hit record anymore are good looks, not originally.
