Subject: Anyone going to see Go-Go's / B-52's
The B-52's are currently doing a bunch of dates around the U.S., in New York on July 4th. Can't wait. I'm going to see my other camp-faves The Go-Go's this Friday at their opener in Central Park in NY. They need a tribute band dressed in towels, face masks, water-skis & tiaras. Their new CD cover has them dressed as nuns. Should be fab.

Oh, yeah! I'll be at the Go-Go's show in Central Park, too. It's gonna be a blast -- love, love, love the new album, and can't wait to hear the new songs live.
Anyone else going to the Central Park show in NYC on Friday? It's general admission, so you can still pick up good "seats" -- just get there early!

I'm sorry, but these are two '80's bands I wish would go away forever. Jane Wieden (Go-Go's) and Fred Schneider (B-52's) are especially annoying.

If I were in the area I would be at that show..however Im gonna catch them in the Chicago area..Oh, and the B-52s are also incredible..Glad both these bands are still around and kicking #$$!!!

Yes, Fred can be rather annoying some times. Usually I just laugh at him. He's an entertainer.
The Go's are great! Their live show last year was heavy, loud, and energetic. They totally rocked!!! A friend of mine remarked after the show, "That's what they sound like live? I always thought they were more easy listening!" Most Go's detractors have never heard them live.
Yes, Jane Wiedlin is awesome! She still looks great after all these years. Also, I must add that Kathy Valentine has turned out to be nothing less than a megababe. I never thought she was that attractive in the early 80s. Something happened around 1990 and she got really good looking, and keeps getting better looking each year.
I don't think I'll be catching the tour this year, but if the Go's are even half as good as they were last year, the show will be a blast.

Everyone's is entitled to their own opinion. But the Go-Go's "awesome" and the "best ever"? That's stretching it a little. FYI: Gina Shock was my favorite Go-Go because she not only had beautiful eyes, she was the only one from the group who didn't sing or talk.
