I was wondering the same thing. For years now I've wondered whatever became of him. I caught a bit of an (obviously recent) episode the other day with Bob Eubanks as the host and it just wasn't the same. Not only that, but I never could stand Bob Eubanks anyway!

Not sure what you mean by "obviously recent"; those newer episodes of "Card Sharks" hosted by Bob Eubanks that are currently being shown on Game Show Network originally aired in 1986, so we're talking 15 years ago (still the classic '80s)...

Yeah, they made a few changes - all of which were for the better, IMO, w/ the exception of Eubanks as host. I always loved Eubanks as host of all the various incarnations of "The Newlywed Game" (late '60s through late '90s), but I agree he didn't fit on "CS" - he didn't bring the drama, etc., to the game that Perry did...

Okay, so I didn't catch the date at the end of the episode I watched! Were those ones really done in the mid-80's? Bob Eubanks looked older to me so I just figured they were from the 90's. I always liked Jim Perry as the host of CS. I've noticed that in most (not all) cases the original hosts seem the best suited for their show. There were a few hosts that personally I couldn't stand to watch, and Eubanks, as I said earlier, was one of them. Besides Perry I also enjoyed watching Gene Rayburn (he brought a lot of comedy to his show Match Game), Alan Ludden, Richard Dawson, and Bert Convy, to name a few.
