Subject: Hey, TX, and the other trivia masters...

Written By: Fett69 on 6/28/2001 at 4:04 a.m.

I need help, and I'm lazy. (I admit it!)

This is most likely a 70's song, but might be early 80's. I just got a copy of the Bee Gees Greatest. There's a song "Love Me" that I know was a hit for another artist. I think it was a man, but might have been female.

Chorus:
"Love Me,
Just a little bit longer,
Together we can make it,
Our love is much too young to break it"

I'm going crazy! It's one of those "I KNOW this!!"

Thanx in advance.

It's by Yvonne Elliman. It hit #14 in the fall of '76. She's also the same woman who hit #1 in in the spring of '78 with "If I Can't Have You" from Saturday Night Fever soundtrack BTW, The Bee Gees also recorded that version of that song.

Thanx, James. I knew I wasn't crazy.

I was thinking last night, while that song was driving me looney, that they should compile a CD of all the songs written by the Bee Gees (or just Barry) but were hits for other artists.

The 2 mentioned here, "Islands In The Stream", "More Than A Woman", "Emotion", a few Andy Gibb tunes, I think Barbara Striesand had one or two, I'm sure there's plenty.

Speaking of Kenny Rogers, wasn't his country hit "This Woman" written by Barry Gibb. I know the Bee Gees sang back-up, as they did with Dionne Warwick's "Heartbreaker" and Diana Ross' "Chain Reaction".
