Subject: Only An 80s Music EXPERT Could Answer This One!

Written By: Don on 7/2/2001 at 9:07 p.m.

I have a question only an 80s music expert could answer. That's because I don't know the artist or song, and can't quote a line from it! This one radio station has an 80s special on the weekend. I heard this song: classic 80s pop sound with male vocals. What grabbed my attention was that when the song started out, while the music was playing, there were several phrases spoken backwards. Then the other people in the car started talking and I couldn't hear the song! I know early 80s music, but this is something I've never heard before, so it was probably recorded in 1985 or thereafter. I have an interest in backward masking, thus my interest in this song. Does anyone have a clue as to what this song might be?

I went to a website that features audio examples of backward masking. One clip was of a group called Front 242, and it sure sounds like what I heard.

Subject: That sounds neat...what is the sites url?

Which Front 242 song was it? I liked some of their late 80s club music.

The song is called "Masterhit". I ran across the site while doing a search for backward masking on Metacrawler.
