Subject: Your Personal Most Disliked Video(s) of the 80's

Written By: Hairspray on 7/11/2001 at 1:10 p.m.

My personal most disliked video of the 80's and all time as a matter of fact is Tom Petty's "Don't come around here no more". I down-right HATE it. It's a shame too because had I not seen the video I wouldn't have minded the song so much. Thankfully, it wasn't too often that a video ruined my perception/impression of a song.

There were some egregiously awful videos in the early days of MTV... "Puttin' On the Ritz" by Taco is absolutely painful to watch, as is the video to M's "Pop Music". Timbuk 3 must have spent three dollars on the video to their one claim to fame "The Future's So Bright (I Gotta Wear Shades)". I always found Flock of Seagull's "I Ran" to be pretty cheezy: chicks wearing garbage bags and a set covered with aluminum foil just say "cheap" to me...

And let's not forget that crappy video by the Georgia Satellites for "Keep Your Hands to Yourself". LOL
