Subject: Mystery Chocolate Bar

Written By: Renee on 7/19/2001 at 3:03 p.m.

Does anyone remember the name of a Chocolate bar that was kind of similar to a Nestle Crunch, but it was called something else. It seems like it had air pockets or bubbles in it (probably the rice puffs) I vaguely recall the commercial showing the bars being made in a candy factory. I'm just trying to recall the name of this candy bar if it existed!!

If you can find a store that sells goods from Great Britain, you might find that the "Aero" bar, I think its by Cadbury, who practically owns the entire candy production in G.B., would be similar to what you are looking for. They have air in them but not the crispy crunch like Nestle crunch. There are several varieties of "Aero" also. steve

In Canada we had one called "Special Crisp" that was like that...Don't know if that's what you're thinking of or not but thought I'd try to help ya out!

This was not a trick question, and it's not a Whatchamacalit. I guess it may be Chocolite, although that name is not ringing a bell. I know the wrapper looked like the candy bar did when you bit into it. It was chocolate brown "bubbles" all over the wrapper.

How about this mystery food I can't remember: These came out around the same time as Combos, but they had more of a potato/rice (light) outer part and were filled with a sour cream/chive type mixture. (I didn't really like them that much to be honest, just trying to recall the name).

It was Chocolite. Whatchamacalits had rice in 'em.

Are those potato chips you're referring to "Munchos?"
