Subject: Gremlins

Written By: Judy McCormick on 7/6/1999 at 9:24 p.m.

I would like to know the name of the creature who spawned the gremlins. What she was and her name in the movie. The movie was shown in 1984. Thanks Judy

Gizmo was a maugwag or something like that (I think that's the answer Judy is looking for)

Gizmo was a mogwai (that's the correct spelling) and is pronounced MOG-why. I thought of buying an AMC Gremlin once and putting a vanity plate on it that read "X MOG Y." (that's ex-mogwai)

Gizmo was also a "he" not a "she" (according to the book)
