Subject: What's the name of that Cartoon?!

Written By: Shawna M on 7/10/1999 at 4:51 a.m.

I have been trying to remember the name of that cartoon about a vw bug. He couldn't talk but would flash messages across his windshield (ex. CHARGE!). He had a girlfriend bug and his enemies were the choppers. Can anyone help me? It's been driving me nuts for about 6 months now.

no, I know what he's talking about, and I don't know the name, but it's definately not Speed Buggy... Wheelie and the Choppers comes to mind...

Speed Buggy was able to talk, right? I think the car that spelled out the words of the response was someone else.

Yes Speed Buggy was able to talk. Mel Blanc did his voice. And by the way, Speed Buggy was NOT a VW bug. He was a dune buggy. The cartoon you're thinking of is Wheelie and the Chopper Bunch. I remember about 5-10 years ago USA Network showed Wheelie and the Chopper Bunch. The Chopper Bunch was abunch of motorcycles.

. . . standing corrected here.

Wheelie and the Chopper Bunch sounds familiar, now that you say the name.

So which little car was the one that would sputter and then "deflate"?
