Subject: "Sunshine On My Shoulders" 70s movie

Written By: Tami on 7/24/1999 at 10:45 a.m.

I remember a made for tv tear-jerker in the early 70's that featured John Denver's hit song "Sunshine On My Shoulders". The movie was about a young couple with a small child. The woman is dying of cancer and the father sings the song to her as he performs in a club (or something). When the mom dies, the movie ends with Dad carrying the child on his shoulders on a sunny day--"Sunshine On My Shoulders" playing in the background. No one in my family remembers it and I am sure it's real. Do you remember it? If so what is the name of the movie and can I get it on video? Who were the stars of the movie?

With a little more research I have discovered the name of the movie is "Sunshine" and was made in 1975, but have no success finding out if it's on video. Anyone know how to find out about old TV movies on video?

I would look on the web under obscure or out of print movies. By the way I also loved this movie and I believe it also became a short lived tv series.
