Subject: Cars from the 80's

So what kind of cars did everyone drive in the 80's? Were you cursed in high school by having to drive you mom's van or very large ford LTD from the 70's?! respond to this and let us all know if you were pitied or envied for the car you drove!! For the record I had two cars: a 77 camaro and an 85' chevy cavalier (but not at the same time.) Also, let us know what you currently drive. I have a Volvo now. (love it)

I know I'm posting this late but it brought back some fun memories. My first car was a '69 Buick Sportwagon (1983). It became a party wagon with my friends. Next, I got a '72 Firebird. It's been the fastest car I've owned. I did 140 (believe it) down Georgia 400 Hwy. I lived in Roswell at the time 84/85. I moved on to a '76 Mercury Capri. That was also a fun car. I had an '81 Buick Century. That car was no fun but it ran. I also had two motorcycles ('75 Honda CB360 and '76 Kawasaki KZ400). I now own a '94 Chevy Cavalier. It's been very good transportation.

> When I first started to drive to school (in '82), I took what was available - my dad's old truck! It was a mid-70's Ford, nothing fancy at all, but I didn't mind. We had a good time in it. We lived near a mountain and it would always go on the roads good (we hid some Tickle Pink up there a couple of times!) I remember one of my good friends had an old Ford Fairlane, not sure the year, but it was cool, had fur on the roof and everything! She ended up later getting a '66 Mustang which she took to college. I also had a friend that got a brand new Camaro with t-tops and we loved it! The guys I remember having nice vehicles were all old stepside pickup trucks that were redone - they were so cool! We went to a small school (I graduated with 33) and weren't quite as cliquey with a really rich kid crowd, like larger schoools would be. Later, when Mom and Dad got a new car, I inherited the '82 Monte Carlo which was pretty cool. Then when I was in college (around 86 or 87), it died and we went out and found me an '84 Cutlass Supreme. It was pretty nice. Now I drive a '93 Maxima which I LOVE. It's loaded except for the leather seats. I may end up getting another one when I get a new car!

I love cars. If I had my way I would own 1. my current car, 2. an Acura Legend (not the "RL"), 3. a Toyota Camry loaded, and 4.the Honda S2000. unfortunatly my budget only allows for the my 99 volvo s70 GLT for now!!
