Subject: Fashion help needed...
Hi all,
While I am definitely a child of the 80's (class of 86), my clothes sense has always leaned more towards fashion victim than trendoid. In other words, I had bubble gum pink Nikes, pinstripe jeans and those godawful plaid blouses with the ribbon bow tie, but absolutely refused to wear neon colors and couldn't afford the designer names. My high school was dominated by the black concert t-shirt and three-inches-of-black-eyeliner stoner crowd.
Anyway, this new year's eve my guy and I are going to a big semi-formal party with our favorite 80's cover band. We'd both like to go retro-fashion and I am at a total loss as to what to wear. I'm thinking Andie and Duckie go to the prom Pretty In Pink style, but I also like the idea of something a little more glam. I'm looking for suggestions on styles to try, vintage clothing resources, other web sites to check out, and any other info you may have to offer.
