Subject: Burger Queen?

Written By: MDC on 8/29/2001 at 9:30 a.m.

My sister and I were having a discussion the other day. We both seem to remember there being, once upon a time, a Burger Queen fast-food chain. I'm not sure if it was local (I grew up in the Midwest) or a national chain. We also recalled that the store's mascot was a woman in a bee's outfit and she was called Queen Bee. Does anyone else recall this?

Yep, they sure are. But in between they were known as Druther's. I first heard about Burger Queen in Kentucky in 1975 when my family visited one. Eventually three came into my area but none of them still exist; the last one of them closed due to fire!
