Subject: Old Cassette tapes

Written By: MDC on 9/1/2001 at 7:55 a.m.

Did anyone else keep old cassettes that you taped music from the radio on? I was just going through my cassettes yesterday and listened to a few! I have some rare songs on those tapes! On one tape, I have "Lessons in Love" by Level 42 (when was the last time you heard that song, 1987?) "Full Circle" by Company B, "Respectable" by Mel & Kim, "Under a Latin Moon" by Candy, "The Only Way Is Up" by Yaz, and "In Love with Love" by Debbie Harry!!! I sure am glad that I kept those tapes, and most of the songs on them are seldom (if ever) heard today!

I used to have a hobby of collecting and recording radio songs on as many different types of cassetes as possible. I still have at least 80 cassettes from TDK, Maxell, Sony, Denon, Nakamichi, Teac, Memorex, Ampex, Loran, and many others that I can't recall at the moment. Many of these have degraded significantly over the years. Thank God for cds.

Loran? Weren't those the ones that came without a case, packaged in plastic, and cost about a buck or 2 for 6 tapes? I remember those!
