Did any of u 80s teenagers watch "the golden girls" when it was on and I also wanted to know if it was popular because i have been watching it recently and it is VERY funny. I was jus curious.

YES!!! on of my best memories as a kid was staying the night at grandma's, eating ice cream, and watching GOLDEN GIRLS! it was such a great show, and now they show re-runs. it's great!!

The Golden Girls was a ratings smash from its debut in 1985 until it left the air (only after Bea Arthur decided not to come back) in 1991. The show was incredibly popular with young people at the time, and almost half of all the fan mail received for the show was from people under the age of eighteen. I remember having to watch the show every Saturday night when it came on, and I still watch it in re-runs today. Coincidentally, I have written a new Golden Girls trivia book, which will be published soon!

hmmmm... i can remember watching it every week, and it was on for a relatively long time (7 years?). But I can't remember exactly how "popular" it was. ya ever get surprised at how long certain tv shows are on for? like maybe you and everyone you know hated it/never watched it, but every fall, it comes back? (Suddenly Susan was on for 4 years...FOUR years...yes, four) this show was like that, I think. I mean, I watched it, but it was no water-cooler "Friends"/"Seinfeld"/"Cheers" that's for sure. I never discussed it in class the next day, but it must have entertained me...

The golden girls was a greeat show and yes it was VERY popular. In fact i think it won 2 emmies in a row for outstanding comedy series and i know that each of them won an emmy. I miss that show alot. It was the kind of show that made u feel good.For me it was a big part of the 80s and They sure dont make shows like "Golden Girls" anymore.

The golden girls were awsome. I mean, it wasnt the type of show that u and everyone in school would talk about but i really enjoyed it and whenever i was home on a sat. nit, i would watch it. Man, Those were the days

The golden girls were incredibly popular. They all rocked. It takes me back to the 80s. Those were the days.

The Golden girls were fantastic. I agree with u there but DESigning women?! I really didnt like that show it was kinna boring sometimes. but anyway i really loved the golden girls
