Subject: Wicked Lester.....

Hey, haven't talked to you mono a mono lately. Did you get your gazebo built? There's a band out now called Nightwish, from Finland. Do me a favor, and get their "Oceanborn" album, or download some MP3's or something. I know your taste in metal, and you'll like them. Possibly the best band I've ever heard. They have a female lead singer that was an opera singer before she joined the band. She incorporates that opera stuff into Nightwis's symphonic metal style. It's really pretty unbelievable. Anyway, take care, just wondering what the hell you've been up to, and check Nightwish out!!!!!!

Yep, yep, got the gazebo put together. Funny part is, my wife was the one who wanted it, but I spend more time down there than she does. It's the perfect "hang out" area for when one of my friends drops by for a cold one or to shoot the breeze for a few.

Britton, I have ordered "Oceanborn" from Barnes and Noble. I listened to some samples at CDNow, and I have to say Marc is dead on in his comparison to Yngwie. Heck, the lead singer even sounds a little like Jeff Scott Soto. LOL I really like the way she blends the operatic style into the vocals - who woulda thunk opera and metal could go together and sound like that? How did you hear about this band? Thanks a million for the tip!

We compared notes on Hammerfall, didn't we?

Ladies and gentlemen, we now return you to your regularly scheduled programming...

Lester, I heard of the band because I have a few CD"s by Nightwish's keyboardists other band, Darkwoods My Betrothed. I don't see the Yngwie similarities like you guys do. When you listen to the whole album, you'll see what I mean. I'm glad you ordered it, you'll love it. I have a Barnes And Nobles near me, but they don't sell CD's. Yours does?

Nah, ordered it from their website. They were cheaper than Amazon, CDNow and my other usual haunts, so they get my money. I didn't know they sold music until I saw their site linked at Half.com.
