Subject: Warning To Audiogalaxy Users. This May Be Old News

BUT I think It's worth repeating. I found it pretty disturbing myself. Copied and pasted from a BBS elsewhere:

"WHAT AUDIO GALAXY DOESN'T WANT YOU TO KNOW...

HIDDEN SPY PROGRAM IN AUDIOGALAXY !!!

Important message to all Audiogalaxy members!

The installation program of the AG Satellite performs a hidden installation of a spy program called "WebHancer". This software called "Spyware" collects information about you, your sites visited, time spent at each site and all of your habits when using the internet and sends all of this information to a company of the same name called Webhancer Corp. in Canada.

Webhancer is placed unbeknownst to all in the folder C:\Program Files\WebHancer by Audiogalaxy.

It can be easily uninstalled by using the Windows' software uninstall program. It is noteworthy to add that AG Satellite's uninstall program will NOT uninstall WebHancer!!! So, please just use the Windows' software uninstall program and avoid hassles. Audiogalaxy works fine without the "Spyware".

Again, Audiogalaxy and this Canada corporation secretly installed a piece of Spyware, "whagent.exe", on your computer when you installed the new version of the Satellite. This software allows a company in Canada, Webhancer Corp., to monitor what you do on the internet and sends them realtime data. You have absolutely no privacy at all while this software is running.

Hit Ctrl+Alt+Delete and see it there.

Did you install that willingly? This should be illegal!

Raise Hell with them for doing that to you!"

That's All Folks!

Most websites you visit are tracking where you go on the web. You should download and install a program called IDcide Privacy Companion. You can get it at the website listed in this thread, or at the link below. I think you'll be surprised at what you find out when the program is running.

You can download versions of audiogalaxy and imesh that are free of spyware at: http://koxx.da.ru/

I've used ad-aware to remove spyware from my computer...it works quite well. You might be suprised at just how many "extra" things are running in the background of your computer.
