Subject: Can't think of toy name...

Written By: Keith Tyler on 9/19/2001 at 3:50 p.m.

Having trouble of thinking of a toy name that I had in the 80's. Pretty sure this is an 80s toy.

It was a constructive toy like Lego, Construx, etc., where the main parts were housed in plastic globes which had an octagonal connector at each of the six points of space. The globes were attached normally using a short plastic octagonal tube which fit over the octagonal connectors on the globes.

Some of the globes were empty, some had plastic insets which were mostly cosmetic (like rooms), some had gear assemblies inside for splitting or altering motive action. Most of the globes came apart so you could mix and match inset components, such as simple gear shafts to pass motive power through a length of globes. There were also rubberized red wheels, propellers and hollow pontoon arms which could be attached.

The majority of things that one would build with this stuff were cars (hence wheels), spaceships and waterships (hence pontoons and propellers).

For the life of me I can't remember the name, but I'm pretty sure it began with C. Connectix? Anyone else remember this toy?
