Subject: Goofy Childhood Games

Written By: MDC on 9/23/2001 at 8:35 a.m.

Does anyone remember playing a silly game called "Poor, Poor Kitty"? Whenever my cousins were at my house, we would play this goofy game. The object of the game was that you would have to act like a cat, rubbing up against someone and meowing and purring. The other person had to pet you on your head three times and say "poor, poor Kitty" each time without laughing. Like I said, silly game!!! Does anyone else remember playing other silly, meaningless games as a kid?

A popular game around our house growing up was taught to us by our dad. It was called: "Pull my finger". My little brother thought it was hysterical. Now my dad has taught my son. Ahhh, the wonderful things passed down from generation to generation...

when we would go to my cousin's house, we would play statue. My older sister and my oldest cousin
would swing us little kids around and when they let go and we landed, we had to stay in whatever position we landed in and make up a name for what our pose was. Then one of my other cousins would come over to the side of the yard we were on and we would have to become moving statues and act out whatever we were to try to get ourselves sold to the "customer" that had come into our "statue shop." The "store owner" would pull our ear to start us and push on our nose to turn us off. lol! We loved this game!! We played it every time we went to their house right after around the block hide and seek and right before shadow tag!! lol
