Subject: DESIGN YOUR OWN 80s JUKEBOX

Written By: Pete R on 8/20/1999 at 2:19 p.m.

Pretend your having a RETRO 80s party and we're all invited. You've got 30 CDs of definitive 80s music to pick from (New Wave/Punk and Hard Rock). Which ones will they be?

I've already selected these five: the EMI "Living in Oblivion" series, volumes one through five. I have all five and I like them. I have another CD of '80's tunes but it is mainly wuss music.

I would have to select the entire Time/Life Sounds of the Eighties collection. There's about 30 of them in the collection, right?

I would probably fill most of the box with "Greatest Hits" style cds (Best of OMD, DM's 101, DD's Decade, Best of Blondie, Best of Thompson Twins, Tears Roll Down (Tears for Fears), A-ha's Headlines and Deadlines, etc). I could probably fill it with 30 of those but if not I'd look for "one-hit-wonder" style collections...
