Subject: Trapper Keeper

Written By: PoodleGirl on 8/20/1999 at 2:45 p.m.

Does anyone have, or know where I can find one of the early Trapper Keepers with the plastic rings? You pulled a little lever, and the notebook rings slid open. Then you pushed the lever and the rings closed. They were not like today's notebooks that have the metal rings. The company has discontinued that particular style, and I am desperate to find one. I used to have three, but in my journey to throw out my childhood things, I do not have them. Now, I wish I still had them! LOL So please, if you have anything to help me out, I would appreciate it more than you know! Thanks and God bless!

I'm actually looking for a picture of one for the site if anyone comes across any.. I would say the best place to look for one is Ebay, but I haven't seen many on there, the last one I found went for $14 and was a Hello Kitty one and wasn't even an official Trapper Keeper, metal rings... I found my last Trapper Keeper not too long ago, but it was pretty beat to hell.. I used to only get a year or so of use out of them...

very interesting that you are talking about Trapper Keepers. What is the fascination with them? and please tell me why teachers hate them. My son's school supply list always says "absolutly no Trapper Keepers". I do no get it since they are just designed to hold papers. I cannot figure it out!!!LOL
