Subject: 80S ROCKED

Written By: Talia on 9/11/1999 at 10:21 p.m.

Ever seen the faces people make when you say the 80s rocked?? They think you're weird or something. But face it there's too much of this puff daddy and korn stuff going around. OH and let's not forget what may be the worst kind of music of any era; the BSB and N'SYNC. I mean, everyone was cool in the 80s. NKOTB, Madonna, Tears for Fears, MC Hammer, Paul McCartney and John Lennon for some time; JEEZ, even Micheal Jackson was awesome in the 80s. Tappered pants, with the socks over them. Big PUFFY hair, and jackets. Bright/neon colors. WOW! This is an era worth remembering! Actually anything post 1950 and pre 1992 was great! The 50s had rock 'n' roll (Elvis) the 60s had hippies (Jimi Hendrix), the 70s had disco (The BeeGees), the 80s had bad ass heavy metal and "pop" (Guns 'n' Roses and the B52s). What do the 90s have???? Not much i'd care to listen to really. Besides, all of that which is cool now, has been so before. All which there is to enjoy and truly love in the 90s (David Bowie, Aerosmith, The Eagles, Santana, The Rolling Stones, James Brown), were in the 50,60s,70s, or 80s. I may only be 15, but I know enough to say that the 90s are nothing compared to all that came before them. You can all im me or e-mail me any time, to tell me what you think. Peace Talia

Subject: Question for Hansi Stuttgart

What about the true kings of eighties cheese, the pride of the Bundesrepublik, the living advertisement for solariums, Dieter und Thomas - aka Modern Talking?

Gute morgen, Donny. Of course i like Modern Talking, even if they have done too similar songs. However there are other German cool bands such as Scorpions, Kraftwerk and Rammstein. I like also dj Sash! (but in the 80's he was only a child) and Falco (that's Austrian, what a pity). Why are you asking me about German artists? I'm not German!!Bitte.

Hi Donny. Why do you think I'm German? However, yesterday I missed to name Nena, Trio and Mo-Do. Do you like them?

I certainly like Trio's 'Da Da Da (Ich Lieb' Dich Nicht)'. Nena is a bit of an I-don't-really-know-what -to-think-of-it. But who the hell are Mo-Do? And, so, you're Austrian or what?

...I think you know much more German than I...In fact I'm Italian! Mo-Do is also an Italian band that sings in German; it had a large success four or five years ago with the disco-song "Eins,Zwei,Polizei". But I don't think it was famous in the U.S.(are you American?). Ciao!

Subject: Forza Azzurri! Forza la Lazio! I biancocelesti!!!

Italian it is. Righeira! Pino d'Angio! Matia Bazar! Toto Cutugno! (Well, er, no, thanks.) Eighties Italo disco!!! Sabrina Salerno!!!!! (What is she up to these days? Is it true she is a hugely succesful television star? I WANT TO BOOK HER FOR A LIVE PERFORMANCE - NO KIDDING YOU.) By the way, I am Flemish/Belgian.

Ciao again, Donny. How do you know Toto Cutugno? I thought nobody knew him out of Tuscany...About Sabrina Salerno: she has return to "sing" after a few years spent as an anchorwoman, but she's not reachead the same success of "Boys" in the 80's. So you support Lazio...Why don't you support Udinese or Parma (where Walem played in)?

P.S.:Finally I write my real name and my e-mail address, so Talia doesn't get angry...
