hey does anyone know how to do the safety dance? it's the dance that goes with the song of the same title by men without hats. if so please let me know how to do it. thanks

I'm not sure there was an actual dance called "The Safety Dance" Many thought that this song was a reaction to the violent "slamdancing" that was popular at the time. Others thought that "The Safety Dance" was a sly reference to "Safe Sex" , which was beginning to be a concern at that time in history.

According to the band the song is about nuclear war, which was DEFINITELY a concern at the time. Bordered on paranoia. Safe sex was later and slamdancers tended to listen to music other than MwoH.

what about the dance they did in the video, I don't think I've ever seen it performed in public, but this may be what the original poster of this message is looking for
