Subject: Really frustated...

I'm trying to fing some info on the net regarding the band " Frozen Ghost". Especially the song "Love of my life" (or at least I think that's what it's called). Where can I get some info on these guys. I'm having the biggest problems. I'd also like the lyrics.

Frozen Ghost were a male duo from Canada that were together in the late '80s/early '90s. Both were former members of the Toronto band Sheriff, which scored a moderate hit here in the U.S. in the Summer of '83 w/ "When I'm With You". (When the song was re-released in late '88, it became a #1 hit in the Winter of '89.) Contrary to the post left by "Red 7", Frozen Ghost had nothing to do w/ the Ottawa band Eight Seconds, and frankly, I'm a little baffled as to why he tried to claim that they were one and the same-not so!

Frozen Ghost released two albums here in the U.S., "Frozen Ghost" (1987) and "'Nice Place to Visit'..." (1988). They would manage only one minor hit here in the States, "Should I See", in the Spring of '87 (obviously off the first album). After the second album flopped, their record label, Atlantic, dropped the group in the U.S. But after taking a break, they would later go on to release a third album, "Shake Your Spirit" (1992), which was issued only up in their native Canada. Unfortunately, all three albums are long out-of-print. However, both "Frozen Ghost" and "'Nice Place to Visit'..." were issued on CD here in the U.S., as was "Shake Your Spirit" up in Canada. I have the first two albums on cassette myself, but have yet to pick up "Shake Your Spirit"...

As for your "mystery song", Frozen Ghost never recorded a tune titled "Love of My Life". I believe the one you're referring to is actually "Dream Come True", off of 1988's "'Nice Place to Visit'...", as "love of my life" does happen to be a line that is repeated several times during that song. Atlantic included the complete lyrics to all of the album's songs (inc. "Dream Come True") on the cassette insert (and I assume the booklet on the CD version as well), but as I've noted in the past, I will respect WebMaster ChuckyG's wishes not to post them here. Hope this helps...
