Subject: 80's day

Written By: Mal on 10/1/1999 at 4:45 p.m.

We are having 80's day at school, and I am not sure what to wear. I want to crimp my hair, maybe with a pink streak...but what clothes should I wear? They need to be easily available at Salvation army or something.

Well, it depends on what type of New Wave you want to represent: Preppie New Wave, Punk, Rasta, Mod, SKA, Rockabilly.

How about a pair of parachute pants, or floods? Maybe with a Michael Jackson zipper jacket or a blue jean jacket covered in 80s band buttons?

>If you want to go easy punk, then so the ends of your hair pink, about two inches worth and do your makeup in purple, with the shadow going up to your forehead and down into your blush. Also, jeans or parachute pants with bandanas from your ankles to your knees and a black t-shirt with a couple of belts, the shinier the better. Big earrings. Fingerless lace gloves. Black shoes.

This is what I wore in high school from 84 - 86!
