Subject: lyrics quiz update

Written By: BoyOfCorn on 11/15/1999 at 8:44 p.m.

Once again I would like to thank those who have helped me out with the lyrics quiz I found at www.buysellauction.com.

It looks like I only need 2 more songs to complete the quiz. By the way here's the answers to the ones I was looking for.

1. Should've known better. Should've seen right through. Over and over falling in love with you. (Just Got Lucky -- Dokken)

2. If you want the fruit to fall, you have to give the tree a shake. (Mary's Prayer -- Danny Wilson)

3. Misery loves company, but she will never foot the bill. (I Don't Mind At All -- Borgeois Tagg)

4. So, she says it's time she goes. She wanted to be sure I know she hopes we can be friends. (No Myth -- Michael Penn)

5. And then instead of reaching conclusions, I see you reaching for something else. (On the Loose -- Saga)

6. I'm the stranger that deserts you, only to love you in another life. (Secret Separation -- The Fixx)

7. I exploit you, still you love me. (Cult of Personality -- Living Colour)

8. In the morning when he's gone, please don't sing that sad, sad song. NO ANSWER YET

9. I'd hate to look into those eyes and see an ounce of pain. (Sweet Child O' Mine -- Guns N' Roses)

10. I could feel at the time there was no way of knowing. (More Than This -- Roxy Music)

11. I'll be more together, stretched by fewer. (Saved By Zero -- The Fixx)

12. If you believe in the power of magic, it's all a fantasy. (Don't Answer Me -- Alan Parsons Project)

13. It's like a jungle sometimes; it makes me wonder how I keep from going under. (New York, New York -- Grandmaster Flash)

14. Hoping for the best, but expecting the worst. Are you gonna drop the bomb or not? (Forever Young -- Alphaville)

15. Only when I'm dancin' can I feel this free. (Into the Groove -- Madonna)

16. Well even the longest night won't last forever, but too many hopes and dreams won't see the light. (Prime Time -- Alan Parsons Project)

17. She's a vision from coast to coast, sea to shining sea. (Yankee Rose -- David Lee Roth)

18. From Fort Payne, Alabama, Merry Christmas tonight. (Christmas in Dixie -- Alabama)

19. I can't believe the news today. I can't close my eyes and make it go away. (Sunday Bloody Sunday -- U2)

20. In the heat with a blue jean girl, burnin' love comes once in a lifetime. (Stone in Love -- Journey)

21. You're never sure the illusion is real. You pinch yourself, but the memories are all you feel. (In the Dark -- Billy Squier)

22. You're a very sexy girl that's very hard to please. You can taste the bright lights, but you won't get them for free. (Welcome to the Jungle -- Guns N' Roses)

23. What a cold and rainy day. Where on earth is the sun hid away? (Like the Weather -- 10,000 Maniacs)

24. Call on me, and I'll be there for you. I'm a friend who always will be true. (Honestly -- Stryper)

25. I should've never gone back I know, but I had to have just a little bit mo'. (The Other Woman -- Ray Parker Jr.)

26. In my mind's eye, I see a vision of how it could be. (Fantasy Girl -- 38 Special)

27. See the girls with their dresses so tight; (give to love) give you love if the price is right. (Fantasy -- Aldo Nova)

28. Somebody get the doctor; I think I'm gonna crash. Never pay the bill because I ain't got the cash. (Somebody Save Me -- Cinderella)

29. Funny how I find myself in love with you. (It's My Life -- Talk Talk)

30. I want to run; I want to hide. I want to tear down the walls that hold me inside. (Where the Streets Have No Name -- U2)

31. I can see your face shining through the window on the other side. (Rosanna -- Toto)

32. It's just another daydream; the kids will be OK. It's just another detour; they haven't lost their way. (NO ANSWER YET)

33. I'm such a good, good boy; I just need a new toy. (Girls, Girls, Girls -- Motley Crue)

34. I kinda hope we get stuck. Nobody gets out alive. (Love In An Elevator -- Aerosmith)

Hopefully I should be getting the answer to numbers 8 & 32 soon by the guy who put this on his site. I'll keep ya posted.

Hi there, BoyOfCorn ~ I've got a positive identification for you on #8. It's "When It's Over", by Loverboy. I have been doing the quiz myself and got this one the other day. I listened to it to confirm it. By the way I have a question for you. How many of these did you get yourself and how many did you have help on? Just curious...

I was able to answer about 130 of them. The ones I couldn't get I listed on this messageboard and at www.backtrax.com and through e-mail to the guys who put the lyrics quiz together at www.buysellauction.com.

How did you do?

I've been doing the quiz since early last week when you first posted the info on this board. I have about 115 out of 165 and am now stuck. I had my brother (who lives in another state) print it out too and we've been comparing answers but he's better with the 70's quiz than the 80's one. Have you tried that one yet? I don't know how good you are with 70's stuff, but I have about 95 out of 170 of those so far. I love these quizzes! Let me know if you try to tackle the 70's quiz! (smile)

I'm not too familiar with music from the 70s.

If you need help with the 80s quiz, lemme know. I have all but #155 done.
