Subject: Message Board for the 90s??(!!!)

Written By: GoGoGirl52 on 11/23/1999 at 12:28 a.m.

I read on here that there will be a 90s and a 70s messageboard coming soon. When will they be up? I personally am getting so sick of hearing everyone put the 90s down, and say things like "the 90s suck" etc. I am 20 years old, and I thought the 90s were just as fun as the 80s. I think every decade has their own little standouts, and yes, believe it or not, the 90s did have them too. I will be the first person to post on the 90s message board and point out all the cool stuff that happened. I just wish there was someone out there my age who agrees with me. I'm just bursting to reminisce about the early 90s, so maybe I'll start here; triva: does anyone on here remember what the first huge pop culture obsession of the decade was???????? Hint: It mirrors a major 80s pop culture obsession that happened exactly 10 years before.

I'm 25 years old, and although I do get nostalgic for the 80's (I know, why else would I be here?), I think the 90's were great too.

This past decade did not suck at all - in fact, I think it was during the 90's that a lot of very interesting music got into the mainstream. We had bad moments in the 80's, too - bands such as Foreigner and Journey, for example.

In the 90's we had Nirvana, Lauryn Hill and Erykah Badu - that should make for a great decade.

Yes! Yes! YES! Finally! Someone who appreciates the 90s! I think the problem is, everyone is looking back over the past 2 years instead of the past TEN years, which is why people say the 90s suck etc, etc. Think back to the early 90s...dance music was at its best! Groups like C+C Music Factory, Deee-lite (one of my favorite 90s groups!), Bizzare Inc., Captain Hollywood Project, Crystal Waters, and 2 Unlimited just to name a few, produced perhaps the snazziest, uplifting dance songs of the past 30 years. The 90s has also been hailed by many as THE greatest decade for movies of the century. Just look at the top 200 movie list of all time on imdb, and you will see that every other one is a 90s movie..gosh there were so many; Titanic, Forest Gump, Jurassic Park, Star Wars the Phantom Menace, Saving Private Ryan..and that is just the tip of the iceburg. Since it's the holiday season, might I point out that one of the greatest Christmas movies ever made came out in the 90s..Home Alone and Home Alone 2: Lost in New York. I rank these up with It's a Wonderful Life and Miracle on 34th Street as the greatest holiday movies of all time. Man, I can't wait for that 90s messageboard to come up! I've been reminiscing over the 80s for the last 5 years, let's bring on the 90s!!

GoGoGirl52, the 90s pop culture queen! Whoomp! There it is! (THE 90s catch phrase!!)
