Subject: Does anyone know this song...

Written By: Chris H on 11/23/1999 at 1:43 a.m.

This is admittedly very vague, but I'm trying to find the band and song title of a particular song. About the only thing I can tell you is that it's from about '85-'87 and the group sounds like Rod Stewart - in fact the song was originally written for him but he passed on it, or didn't record it for some reason. I can't realy think of any lyrics - it's one of those tip of the tongue type of things. It was kind of uptempo - not like the ballads Rod does today. It was more like 'Some Guys Have All the Luck' Rod Stewart. This song was fairly popular at the time, and got a decent amount of radio airplay. I think the group was a one-hit wonder. Again, sorry this is so vague, but that's as much as I have to go on. Thanks for your time.

Could the song be by the group Climie Fisher? They did a song in 1988 that I thought sounded VERY much like Rod Stewart. It was called "Love Changes (Everything)", and starts out something like "I was only seventeen when she looked at me that way, seems like yesterday..." It reached #23 on Billboard. And just for fun I'll throw in the fact that Rob Fisher was one half of the popular group Naked Eyes, from the early 80's ("Always Something There To Remind Me" & "Promises, Promises"). I really hope this is the song you're looking for. If so I know it's on Living in Oblivion: The 80's Greatest Hits Vol.5.

That's it! I'd been trying to think of that song for weeks. I could hear it in my head, but I couldn't quite think of the lyrics. It was driving me crazy. Oh, and I didn't know that about Rod Fisher. Thanks very much for your help.
