Subject: SPACE COWBOY? Do You Know Who Sang This?

Written By: Arelle Hall on 2/5/2000 at 4:37 a.m.

Okay folks....it was sometime back when Rockit by Herbie Hancock first came out...it was played here in Seattle, WA on C89 FM - KHNC. I'm not sure if it was called space cowboy, but that's what was said in the corus a lot. And I know it wasn't Dave Matthews band either...a small part of the lyrics went "he's bad...he's mean...he's the space cowboy in the latest scene...he's bad, he's mean, he's number one...he's the space cowboy with the laser gun".

Please if anyone knows...don't hesitate to write back!!!! Thanks!!!

Your "mystery song" is "Space Cowboy" by The Jonzun Crew, a big r&b hit from the Spring of '83 (it failed to cross over to the pop charts, though). It was off the group's 1983 album, "Lost in Space". Unfortunately, the album is long out-of-print, and has never been re-issued on CD here in the U.S...
