Subject: Freaks and Geeks BACK March13? Producers's Website

Written By: freaksandgeeks!!! on 2/16/2000 at 5:27 p.m.

All due respect to Mr. Jay Leno . . . (please see post below, titled, "It's official: "F and G" now history..." from Wednesday, 16 February 2000, at 12:02 a.m. EST) who apparently announced the cancelation of "Freaks and Geeks" on his program . . . I don't watch Leno, so I can't vouch for this . . .

Anyway. I just visited the web site of the producer of Freaks and Geeks at www.freaksandgeeks.com and the web site had a message saying that the show will be returning on Monday March 13 at 8:00 pm. Please see www.freaksandgeeks.com/home.html

The web site's pretty decent, and it has a COMPLETE episode guide (with summaries) unlike the one found on the NBC site which is missing a lot.

yeah, I thought they had a pretty cool site too.. they probably pushed it off for a few weeks to sheild it from sweeps week, where it would get clobbered by all these silly attention getting programs, like drama - documentary things about Jon-Benete-Ramsey and the rest of it.. at least they haven't permanently removed it..

I'd actually be willing to run a banner for them somewhere on the site the week it returns if: 1) I had one that was well designed, 2) I thought it would help

I hope you're right. It does seem like it might have been a protective move. I just wish that NBC would let viewers know in advance that they are going to do something like this. (Perhaps they did announce it, I don't watch much TV, so maybe I missed something.) At least they could have said "Freaks and Geeks will not be seen tonight as originally scheduled. It will return on March 13th at 8:00 EST." or something like that. Instead, we think the show is going to be on, make a point to watch and/or tape it . . . and it's not there and we think that NBC canceled it or is "trying to kill it" when in actuality they may be trying to HELP it.

E-mail them and see if they'll send you one. If anything, it will show support for the program. Maybe people from this site will go to their site and sign up for their mailing list, which might show support in numbers for the show. Who knows?

Doesn't TV Guide have a Save Our Shows campaign? I love this show. It is my high school. I went to school with all of these people. I think they need a little research help because some of the dates and the trends seem to be wrong.

trust me, they're better than the people who did "Detroit Rock City" at getting things right.. I noticed several mistakes in just one showing of that one..

As far as Freaks and Geeks go, some of their music references are sometimes ahead of time, but for the most part they're pretty close all around.. I haven't noticed too much that's wrong anyways.. I must not be trying hard enough

I sent them email for some graphics to run on the website, but it'll probably be awhile before I hear anything
