Subject: help finding right costumes for "FAME"
Hi. My name is Shaina and I am in Fame-the musical, at my highschool. My costumes are all supposed to be from 1980-1984 from frosh year of high school to graduation. I have NO idea what they wore or what to buy for it. Please Help!! If it helps, I'm an extra performing in the acting class at Fame. Please respond as quickly as you can!!

This might be a little too obvious, but maybe you ought to rent the movie, and also "Flashdance". I remember a lot of headbands worn under bangs (hair big and sprayed), sweatshirts with the neckband cut off so they hang off one shoulder, tight acid wash jeans, tons of thin shiny bangle bracelets on one arm, spandex mini skirts, high heeled pumps with lacy anklet socks, etc.

Striped leotard, red, white, and blue or any combination of those colors, colored tights, and legwarmers. Legwarmers may have come along a bit later than '84, but hardly anyone would notice the anachronism. Good luck!
