Subject: 80's female t.v. show stars

Written By: Lindsay Weindel on 3/30/2000 at 11:02 a.m.

I'm attending a 1980's costume party and am in need of a character from a t.v./sitcom from the eighties. I am a female. Any suggestions?

I don't really care for any of these ideas, except the Church Lady. For that, you would have to do the superior dance a few times throughout the night. I think you should go as one of the characters from "The Facts of Life." You didn't mention anything like hair color/length, etc. If you're brunette, Jo would be so easy. Just a good sport team sweatshirt or t-shirt, jeans, no makeup, a ponytail, a New York accent, and an attitude!

Blair: Set hair in hot rollers, wear a plaid button-down shirt, a knee-length khaki super-preppy skirt, and suede boots. Lots of lip gloss, too!

Tootie: Roller skates. Clothes kind of preppy too.

If you want to get really glam about it, be Alexis Carrington from Dynasty (Joan Collins). Big hair, much makeup, big jewelry.

A burst of inspiration: PUNKY BREWSTER!! That would be so fun! Colorful and casual with two ponytails.

Pat would be a good idea but Lindsay said it is an 1980's costume party. Julia Sweeney played Pat Riley from (1990-1994). Maybe you could be the church lady.

Heather Locklear played a police woman back in the 80's on TJ Hooker...just a thought.
