Subject: Voting Questions for movies... NEED YOUR HELP!

Written By: ChuckyG on 4/29/2000 at 11:01 p.m.

I'm going to implement a system of allowing people to vote on their favorite movies on the individual movies on the site (and the two new sites as well) and I was a bit stumped on trying to come up with five generic questions to ask about every movie of the 80s.. Basically it's going to be one of those 1 to 5 sliding scale type things, so the questions have to be of the "rate your response" type of questions.. All I've thought of so far is "Overall Rating" (real inventive huh?)

The questions need to be like 5 or 6 words.. thinking in the terms of complete the following question: "How would you rate .... on a scale of 1 to 5"

so, for example, my first (and only) question would go: "How would you rate the overall movie on a scale of 1 to 5"

so I'm welcome to any suggestions.. I'm going to code it this weekend, so the sooner I get actual questions, the better...

What about... How would you rate the music/soundtrack? Up comming actors/actress? Plot as it relates to future generations? Does it stand the test of time (is it still funny today)?

stand the test of time.. that's a good way to phrase that.. I was thinking of a question along those lines..

I don't know if the soundtrack really applies to every movie, but then again, I guess even with the classically scored stuff, music does matter (Star Wars, Indianna Jones opposed to say Pretty in Pink, Breakfast Club)

up comming actor/actresses... probably would just say rate the actors/actresses, since not every movie features up and coming people..

thanks for all the cool ideas though.. anyone else?

How about the believeability?? Even a sci-fi/fantasy film would have to have convincing writing and acting to make me enjoy it. ex. in any of the Star Trek films who would believe Pee-Wee Herman cast as a Klingon???

I don't know.. are we talking about Paul Reubens playing a Klingon, or his Pee Wee Herman character playing a Klingon? I think I'd rather enjoy seeing the later.. >grin<
