i'm trying to start as a dj who plays 80s new wave/synth pop, maybe some 90s and britpop. anyone got any suggestions or ideas on how to get start? i mainly want to play in clubs or bars.

I've added a FAQ link below that covers a lot of information on DJing. My advice in a nutshell is practice, practice, PRACTICE and if you want to perform in clubs be persistent with the decision makers who hire the DJs (mixtape demos, auditions, constantly hanging out at the club etc.) because it's not always easy to land a club gig. Good luck in your endeavors.
