Subject: A musical film seems to be lost

Written By: Gillian on 5/15/2000 at 9:56 a.m.

Hi, I wonder if you could help me. Round about in the early Eighties when I was about 7 or 8 yrs old, there was a musical drama on TV called The Little Matchstick Girl. I can remember the film being really sad. As I am deaf, there was no subtitles in those days, and this is one reason why I would love to watch the film again, to watch it with subtitles. But unfortunately, I have come across a brick wall. Ive searched all through the internet, it came up with one, but it wasnt the same - didnt have the same people or the same little girl. Im from England and Ive written to Central TV(or Carlton now) but they dont have it or not heard of it. PLEASE PLEASE, is there anybody who knows what happened to it? Or at least know what I mean?

Help much appreciated Gillian

>I think the film is called "The Little Matchgirl" I vaguely remember it from when I was young and I think it came out around Christmas time every year because that is when the story was set. I remember watching it at school I think - I don't know if that's any help but that's all I can remember.
