Subject: Michael Hutchence Memorial

Written By: Lindsay on 11/21/98 at 09:48 p.m.

November 22, 1998 will make one year since Michael Hutchence left this world...actually, it was 6pm my time today cause that made it 9 am Sydney time when he was found....Everyone that can, please take a moment for silence. I have three candles lit, pictures up, sort of a shrine...Please, share with me on this 80's board the memory of a great icon of the 80's.
I love you all...

One of the best concerts I have seen was INXS in '88 on the Kick tour. Ziggy Marley was the opening act. I just missed seeing them open for Men At Work in 1983 (the concert they opened for sold out and a second day was added but INXS had another gig the next night so a local band opened, who were really good by the way). It would have been something to hear "Don't Change" (my favorite of their's) as that was the current hit in '83 and they did not play it at the concert I saw in '88. I really did not listen to them much from around 1990 on. It is sad that it took this untimely event had to bring those memories back into focus.

I can't believe it has been a year, Lindsay. It angers me that he took his own life and left his children, wife, family, bandmates and his millions of legions of fans behind to wonder why? He has so very much to live for, but one never truly knows what a person can endure in life unless they have walked in their shoes. I will always look back with great love and admiration at this special man, and will continue to wonder... what if???? Rest in peace...

Sorry if I'm late... but I just found the board. I always loved INXS and Michael Hutchence. It is so sad that he did what he did. Heartbreaking. He was a good man and a great talent. And a powerful voice for the 80s. I miss him :( ~ Mallory
