Subject: REO

One of my favorite groups in the '80s was REO Speedwagon. Many people don't think of them as an '80s group because they were around in the '70s too, but "High Infidelity" was great!! Does anyone remember roller skating with that special guy/girl to "Keep On Loving You"? Come on all you "Tough Guys" - any thoughts on this???

I can't say that I am a fan but they are still around. They played at a Fourth of July fest in a suburb here in Cincinnati this year. I think it is still the original lineup. I would probably categorize them as 80's since Hi-Infidelity was big in 1980 (or was it '81??). Back then they played the large downtown arena (I just remember some other kids wearing concert t-shirts at school). It's wierd to remember that when you see them advertised as headlining a community fest (granted it is a well-to-do suburb with deep corporate HQ base, hence they can afford a big name band to play the local fest).

IMHO REO Speedwagon was one of the best bands of the 80s. Their music rocked!!! I especially like them because they come from my home state, Illinois.

p.s. OK, I admit it. Whenever I go to a karaoke bar, I ALWAYS have to sing "Can't Fight This Feeling". I guess it's a guilty pleasure.
