Subject: 80s Contest Answers are available

The contest answers in case you missed them. I still haven't tallied the results yet, I hope to have it done soon. I spent last night fixing the message board, so it kinda didn't get done.

I recently saw your answers for the second 80s quiz. I found a couple of different answers than the ones you gave.

For question 1, I actually watched the movie "This is Spinal Tap" and they say 18 feet, not 12. It even shows it on the napkin they wrote it on.

For question 33, I bought the movie "Airplane" just to do the research for this quiz. They mention that everyone got sick from eating bad fish, not chicken. When the stewardess tells the captain that everyone got sick from the bad fish, the camera points down to the fish that the captain just ate. Chicken wasn't even one of the choices the passengers had. It was either steak or fish!!!!!!!

For question 38, I did some research on the net, and I found a summary of the movie "Electric Dreams". It said that Miles (Moles) spilled champagne on the computer, not wine. Those are 2 totally different things.

1) You are indeed right, I don't know why I wrote 12 feet. This is one though that I wasn't looking for a specific answer, I was just trying to be a show off and I goofed (grin).

2) I couldn't remember that when I first wrote up the answers, and I didn't get around to checking it yet, one of the reasons I haven't finished grading it. I believe you on this one though.

3) Wine, champagne.. same thing, the only difference is that champagne comes from a single region in France, and I doubt anyone watched the movie close enough to notice the brand in order to determine wether or not it really is champage or wine.. I was willing to accept either answer.

I have to admit to being a little lazy on verifying some of the answers to this contest, though I am positive on at least 90% of them (the song lyrics especially). It's actually one of the reasons I'm not going to be doing prizes again, it's too frustrating to come up with questions that can be only answered one way, and hard to verify all my answers without asking for outside help... so I apologize and I'll make sure I have it all straightened out before I announce a winner...

I hope you didn't buy the Airplane movie for the sole purpose of the contest, and that it's something you don't mind owning..

By the way Chucky G, I did buy the copy of "Airplane" for my own purposes. I wanted to buy for quite a while, but your quiz gave me a good excuse. :)
