Well, I picked Duran Duran, but Adam Ant and Depeche Mode all have the best videos of the 80s. IMO. I do like a lot of the choices though.

Whereas Michael Jackson sold millions of records BEFORE the advent of music video, Duran Duran was the first platinum-selling group to define themselves BY WAY OF their videos.
Yes, Depche Mode made great videos, too, but their ultimate success didn't come for several years after they debuted on MTV. Duran Duran was the leader of the pack.

I chose one of my favorite bands that had videos throughout the decade...INXS....followed by Duran Duran, the most exotic videos champ!

Having just gone through the list, I like pretty much all the artists/videos included, but I picked The Cars actually. They didn't have as many videos as, say MJ or Madonna, and weren't quite as groundbreaking as Duran Duran, but the video for "You Might Think" scared me a little when I first saw it in the early 90's.
In fact, it was one of only two videos I was ever afraid to watch (the other being Tom Petty's "Don't Come Around Here" -- but that's another story in and of itself!). :D
I also liked "Magic" which showed Ric Ocasek walking on the pool at that outdoor party; and "Hello Again" directed by Andy Warhol.

I would say Duran Duran had the most, I remember Rainbow "Stone Cold" was a video that Mtv overplayed as well.
