I love Arthur....very funny and very heartfelt.

While Arthur Bach is taking a bath
Arthur Bach: God, Hobson, isn't life wonderful?
Hobson: Yes it is, Arthur, do your armpits.
Arthur Bach: A hot bath is Wonderful... Girls are WONDERFUL!
Hobson: Yes, imagine how wonderful a girl who bathes would be... Get dressed.

It was definitely a hard decision.

I love the part in Arthur when he's talking to the moose on the wall:
Arthur: Where's the rest of this moose.
Burt Johnson: Arthur, I think it's time we got to know one another.
Arthur: I do too. That's why I had to come over today. Hmhmhmhm. This is a tough room.

Arthur: I don't have to tell you that.

Arthur: You must've hated this moose.

A Christmas Story (1983)
Bill Cosby: Himself (1983)
The Great Standups (1984)
National Lampoon's Vacation (1983)

Beverly Hills Cop is a classic.

Off the top of my head, it would have to be "Dragnet."

Joe Friday (Dan Akroyd) sits at the bar as a stripper drops her drawers and bends down over his face.
Friday (annoyed) looks up at her and says: "Ma'am!"

That movie still has me rolling thinking about it.

I was going to say the Naked Gun series, but was that the 80s or 90s?

A FISH CALLED WANDA

Wanda: ...but you think you're an intellectual, don't you, ape !?
Otto: Aps don't read philosophy.
Wanda: Yes they do, they just don't understand it!  Let me straighten you out on a few things-- Aristotle was not Belgian, the central message of Buddhism is not 'every man for himself,' and the London Underground was not a political movement!  Those are ALL mistakes...I looked them up.

Wendy: My father was in the Secret Service, Mr. Man-fren-gen-sen-gen, and I know perfectly well that you don't inform the general public when you're debriefing a KGB agent in a safehouse.
Otto: Oh you don't, huh?
Wendy: No, not unless you're congenitally insane or irretrievably stupid.
Otto: DON'T call me stupid!
Wendy: Why on earth not?
Otto: Oh, you English are sooo superior! Well, would you like to know what you'd be without us, the good old U-S of A to protect you? THE SMALLEST F**KING PROVINCE IN THE RUSSIAN EMPIRE! So don't you call me STUPID, lady, you just thank me!
Wendy: Well, thanks for popping by and protecting us...
Otto: (walking away) If it wasn't for us, you'd all be speaking GERMAN! (singing) Deutschland, Deutschland uber alles, uber alles..."

What I like best about "Stripes" is the repartee between Winger and Sgt. Hulka.  In fact, Warren Oates MADE that movie for me.  He died shortly after "Stripes." :'( Did you ever see "In the Heat of the Night"?  "On your feet, boy!"

Used Cars (1980)   ;D

I didn't know anybody else even remembered "Used Cars."  Boy, that brings back some memories. :D

The Blues Brothers (1980)

One of my all time favorites! Great jokes, great car chases, great explosions, and great music!  Can't argue with that!  They should NEVER have made that sequel. Never, ever.  I didn't see it, but I just hate knowing it's out there.  I like John Goodman, but he is nooo John Belushi, no way, no how!

I just noticed the above.

"Stripes": I live where that movie was filmed. At work I sometimes used to take the out-of-state contracters on "Stripes" tours. "Now this is where they filmed...".  :)

"Used Cars": Don't we all know people like the ones in "Used Cars". I love the way they took a no name,no place, nowhere used car lot and turned it into the center of the world. Check out the DVD and the director's (and Kurt Russell's) comments about the movie - they are funny!

"The Blues Brothers": I like Dan Aykroyd and John Belushi in it. They don't have a problem, it's the world around them that's screwed up. I can relate to that. ;)

;) ;D

Trading Places and Brewster's Millions are great too. I also dig Weird Science.

I voted for Porky's, with Caddyshack as a VERY close second. Porky's was the first "naughty" movie I had ever seen, and I still love the series. Caddyshack rocks; I only wish Rodney would have been in Caddyshack 2 (s he was slated to) instead of Jacky Mason. It might have been better. But I still like it.

Hell, if it's the 80s, and it's a bad movie, I like it :)
