Subject: The Scorpions Music Poll

Written By: eightiesfan on 06/01/04 at 7:30 am

I like pretty much all their songs, but I guess I would go with "Blackout" because that song really rocks and I haven't had a chance to hear it in a long while. I also like their song "Winds of Change" from the early 90's.  8)

I chose "When The Smoke is Going Down" but "Dynamite" is great also.  Hell, do yourselves a favor and listen to the whole "Blackout" album.  It rocks!

Rock you like a Hurricane. There's a rumor going around that The Scorpians will be touring with Tesla in the fall. Can't wait. I just saw Tesla and they kicked butt.

I'll have to pick the first one I ever heard was "Rock You Like a Hurricane" sometime in the 90's - great anthem. One of those songs that's heavy enough for the headbangers, but commercial enough to get on pop radio.

Most of the time, I like their more polished songs - not sure how many would agree with me on this, but I loved their whole Savage Amusement album from the late 80's. Arena rockers like "Don't Stop at the Top" mix well with power ballad-type songs like "Every Minute Every Day" and the hit "Rhythm of Love".

"We Let it Rock, You Let it Roll" proves they can still get heavy though. Heck, I once heard "Love on the Run" described as the closest they got to speed metal!

Hard to pick since I love almost everything they've done. Of the poll, Rock You Like a Hurricane. It was in such heavy rotation on MTV at the time and it reminds me of my first roller coaster ride back in '83 since I think that song was on loop on the drive to the amusement park  ;D

Someone else mentinoed The Zoo....that's another big favourite of mine!

When I first saw Scorpions, they were the intro band for Kiss' "Destroyer" tour in Europe.  I saw them in Furth, near Nurnberg.  I heard they were doing the tour gratis, so as to get introduced to the American audience.  It must have worked.
